A brand identity and guidelines book for Obume, a skincare label built on the idea that restraint is the rarest luxury. A monochrome system of black, white and three greys, set entirely in Inter, applied to stationery and a bottle-and-carton packaging system.
A brand guidelines book for OBUME, Edition No. 01. The brand is built on a single conviction: that true luxury is felt before it is seen, in the weight of a jar, the pause before a scent unfolds, the quiet of a shelf with nothing to prove. The book exists to protect that quiet, so every surface carries the same restraint as the formulations.
The most memorable rituals are the quietest ones. Every formulation, texture and scent is judged not by how loudly it announces itself, but by how long it lingers in memory.
The mission is to create formulations that feel inevitable: never engineered, never loud. Four principles keep that promise honest.
The name carries an old, unhurried rhythm, something said softly, once, and remembered. The mark follows the same instinct: two forms, O and B, drawn as a single unbroken line, overlapping like a ritual repeated daily until it becomes second nature.
It is built to hold its elegance at any scale: engraved on a cap, pressed into wax, printed on tissue. The lockup is drawn once and never redrawn, stretched, rotated, tinted or given a shadow.
OBUME runs on black, white and three measured greys. Restraint in colour keeps focus on cut, texture and typography, the things that actually define the brand.
Inter is the sole typeface across every application, clean, geometric and legible from a bottle label to a storefront sign. Five weights, Light 300 to Bold 700, cover every need.
The voice is confident without boasting and sensory without excess. Short sentences carry more weight than long ones; every line should sound like it was said once, plainly, and meant.
Eight cues keep the photography consistent: directional light with long shadows, liquid in motion, negative space, architectural lines, tactile grain, editorial black-and-white contrast, form before label, and studio minimalism with no props.
Business cards are printed on uncoated 600gsm stock, with the mark foil-blocked on black cards or blind-embossed on white, never printed flat. Bottles are weighted glass with a matte-black cap and an engraved mark. Cartons use uncoated 350gsm board with a single blind-embossed impression, and wax seals are applied by hand on limited editions only.
